Situational and Continuous Writing
A hub for Paper 1 writing skills.
Paper 1 is about clear communication and developed writing. SW needs purpose and format. CW needs planning, plot development and language control.
Parent Note
For Paper 1, the most helpful thing parents can do is read your child’s compositions. Ask: does the story make sense? Does it have a clear problem and resolution? You do not need to mark — just respond as a reader. That feedback is often more useful than a mark.
Situational Writing
Situational Writing is 14 marks. Students should focus on purpose, format, audience and content points.
Continuous Writing
Continuous Writing is 36 marks. Students need a clear plot, appropriate development and controlled language.
